The DBS Study Abroad Program Staff consists of two full-time individuals, one in the U.S. and one in Dublin, to serve students interested in and actually studying abroad. This is in addition to the many staff members at DBS who work directly or indirectly with American study abroad students. Our dedicated staff strives to ensure that each student has a rewarding, enriching experience in Dublin.
U.S. Staff
As an eligible student interested in applying to the DBS Study Abroad Program, you will have the personal enrollment advisement and general guidance of our Program Director. She will guide you through each step of the application process including the arrangements you’ll need to make at your home institution. She will provide ongoing assistance if you are accepted to the program and, in addition to helping with specifics related to your semester abroad, she will also send you a customized pre-departure guide and cultural adjustment information. The Program Director is available to answer your questions, as well as those your parents and/or home institution may have.
The Program Director also works directly with affiliate institutions, their staff and students. Applications and questions from these institutions should be forwarded to the Program Director (See the Contact Information section of this website).
Dublin Staff
As a DBS study abroad student, you will have the full-time support of our on-site Resident Director (RD). The RD is both an academic and administrative coordinator who will assist students in making a smooth transition from living and studying in the U.S. to living and studying in Dublin. The RD will pick you up from the airport (provided that you arrive on one of the two designated arrival dates) and will conduct the on-site orientation. The RD is continually available throughout the semester to help with cultural adjustment, to be a liaison with DBS and to provide general guidance on life in Dublin. The RD is supported by the full-time Director of Development at DBS as well as the entire DBS staff.
