Housing & DBS Services
The DBS Study Abroad Program staff is committed to working with prospective and current study abroad students in order to help both the application process and the semester abroad experience go as smoothly as possible. Students studying abroad at DBS also have the benefit of the support of the many staff members at DBS who work directly or indirectly with American study abroad students. Our dedicated staff strives to ensure that each student has a rewarding, enriching experience in Dublin.
As an eligible student interested in applying to the DBS Study Abroad Program, you will be advised through each step of the application process including the arrangements you'll need to make at your home institution. We will provide ongoing assistance if you are accepted to the program and, in addition to helping with specifics related to your semester abroad, we will also send you a pre-departure guide and cultural adjustment information. We are available to answer your questions, as well as those your parents and/or home institution may have.
A full-time, on-site Resident Director (RD) is both an academic and administrative coordinator at DBS who assists study abroad students in making a smooth transition from living and studying in the U.S. to living and studying in Dublin. The RD also helps students with questions related to accommodation, classes, transportation and navigating their new culture.
Students are encouraged to explore all that Dublin has to offer and the Study Abroad Program staff is happy to provide any guidance or suggestions. Whether it is historical sites, museums, cafes or parks, the city will appeal to your individual interests and tastes. Additionally, the Student Services Department offers a variety of activities, including sports, societies and entertainment for both full-time and study abroad students. Please visit the student service page at www.dbs.ie for more information on the Student Services department activities.
